DESCRIPTION

STANDARD - Knives made of tool steel with hardened blade are used less and less frequently. Their purchase and sharpening costs are relatively low, but they need frequent sharpening and are suitable for cutting soft materials. The important thing when using any type of knife is not to allow the knife to become too dull. Cutting materials with a dull knife leads to faster wear of the machine and sometimes even to damage of the pressure beam edge. It is also important to use the correct blade angle. Generally the blade for hard materials should have a greater angle than for soft materials. When changing knives it is important to position the blade so that it penetrates the rim as little as possible. Each knife change should also result in a new cut line being set on the spar.
